ABAO estrena “The dull fake”, original and funny opera hall for all audiences

ABAO Bilbao Opera launches a new cycle in order to provide another way to approach the lyrical genre, creating a space for all audiences with quality shows at greatly reduced prices. The days 22 Y 23 May at the Sala BBK cultural center of Bilbao Gran Vía collaboration with Fundación Juan March and the Teatro de la Zarzuela, ABAO Bilbao Opera premiere opera Il Finto lounge Manuel García composed Sordo, one of the most famous tenors in opera history, with libreto of Gaetano Rossi.

This opera buffa for reduced voices with piano accompaniment group is considered a jewel of musical heritage, where the Sevillian author boasts unprecedented freedom and comedy flies over the argument in a subtle and intelligent way. Based on the outline of the Italian Commedia dell'arte, its plot is full of tangles and deceits articulated according to the traditional closed form: exposition, naked, outcome, further maintaining the three classic units: action, Time and place.

The co-production is directed and performed by pianist Rubén Fernández Aguirre, expert music composer and tenor Seville. The staging designed by Paco Azorín is inspired by the movie "The Grand Budapest Hotel" Wes Anderson and places the action in the wonderful years 20 twentieth century. The lobby of a luxury hotel with Art Deco aesthetic consists of several lifts and a piano bar, full of crazy people trafficking, suitcases, anecdotes and life, It is the scenario which brings together some extreme characters, installed in the dolce far niente, to reach a surprising and eccentric end, where as it could not be otherwise, love triumphs.

To give life to the crazy characters in this opera ABAO Bilbao Opera has assembled an exceptional cast led by soprano Cristina Toledo as 'Carlotta', where is its presentation in Bilbao, beside the baritone Gerardo Bullón as 'Pandolfo', the debut of tenor Francisco Fernández Rueda as 'Capitano', Baritone César San Martín as 'Pagnacca', mezzo-soprano Carol Garcia como 'Lisette', Baritone Damien Castillo as 'Francuccio' and actor Riccardo Benfatto as 'Lobby boy'.

The functions of the 11:00h days 22 Y 23 didactic functions are aimed at schools with tickets 10 €, Wednesday and representation 22 May at 19:30h will be open to all audiences with a single price of 20 € for children 35 years and 35 € for older.
