The Palace of Arts program this sunday, 2 of May, two performances open to all audiences of ‘Pulcinella’, a didactic proposal that combines symphonic repertoire and theater so that the youngest can enjoy their first experience with classical music.
Music and word come together in a show based on the ‘Pulcinella’ suite, from Igor Stravinsky, in which the pedagogue and actress Ana Sanchiz Hernandez- narrate this musical tale, while embodying the main character of the story, while the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana interprets the score of the great Russian composer under the direction of Ignacio Garcia-Vidal.
‘Pulcinella’ is made from the homonymous ‘ballet’, for soprano, tenor, bass and orchestra, that the composer wrote about the character Pulcinella, originally from the 'Commedia dell’Arte'. For your creation, Stravinsky orchestrated music attributed to the Baroque composer Giovanni Battista Pergolesi (1710-1736).

Ignacio Garcia-Vidal is a conductor and musicologist with deep academic and humanist training. He trained in Orchestra Conducting mainly in Spain and Russia with the teachers Enrique García Asensio, George Erzhemski y Piotr Alexievich Gribanov, expanding their knowledge in Estonian training spaces, Saint Petersburg and Vienna.
Since his professional debut with 24 years, Ignacio García-Vidal regularly conducts important orchestras with public and critical success, as well as successful tours and participation in major festivals.
García-Vidal maintains a special commitment to educational actions and to bring music closer to all audiences, devoting special attention as a director and pedagogue to projects of children's and youth orchestras and choirs in areas with few resources of South America, as well as the creation of concerts in new formats.
