With libretto by Felice Romani, we are told the story of the cruel condemnation of Henry VIII of England to Anne Boleyn to marry Juana Seymour. With a more evolved dramatic musical language that imposes itself on the Rossinian tradition due to its greater expressive force. The final scene is especially famous., premonitory of the scene and the aria of Lucia's madness, in which the queen, about to die, alternate moments of lucidity and delirium ("Lead me to dessert").
