The face-to-face meeting of the XVIII Arnuero International Chamber Music Competition returns, with young interpreters of different nationalities in the Cantabrian town of Arnuero. Next Saturday 3 of July, to 20:00h, in the Church of the Assumption, the opening concert will take place with the absolute premieres of the works “Antinous” by Jesús Torres and “Magia Simpática” by José Luis Escrivá, performed by violinist Fernando Pascual and harpsichordist Adriá Gràcia Gálvez.
After finishing the opening concert, the draw for the performance of the groups that will participate in the grand final will be held, which will take place next Sunday 4, to 18:00h.
The CIMCA finalists 2021 son:
Erasmus Quartet, string quartet from Rotterdam
Quartet synthesis, saxophone quartet, from CS Amsterdam
Strandmon Trio of piano, violin and cello, from the CS Maastrich
Trio Born, viola, violin and cello, from the CS Antwerp
The four finalist chamber ensembles, selected from a total of 15 participants from all over Europe, they will perform a complete work chosen by the jury from the repertoire submitted to the competition.
Due to the current sanitary restrictions imposed by the pandemic, the selection of the finalist chamber groups was carried out via online. This year's jury was chaired by the composer Jesús Torres and made up of the members José Luis Escrivá (composer), the violinist Fernando Pascual, the harpsichordist Adriá Gràcia, and the composer and pedagogue Ángel Botia.
