He 1 October starts the ninth edition of the Verdi Week who organize ABAO-OLBE (Bilbao Association of Friends of the Opera) Y Deusto Forum. Thanks to this cycle of conferences, at the end of this edition, they will have approached Bilbao from different geographical points such as America and Italy, fifty outstanding figures in various fields to broaden our knowledge of the music and personality of the most renowned opera composer of all time from different perspectives.

The ninth Verdi Week, coordinated by Juan Angel Vela del Campo, the cultural director of the project "All Greens", meets under the title 'Multidimensional Verdi' every day at 19:30h in the University of Deusto to seven prestigious speakers who will help us search for the secret heart of the Italian genius.

the professor, Begoña Lolo, director of the Higher Center for Research and Promotion of Music of the Autonomous University of Madrid, is in charge of opening this edition tomorrow 1 October to speak from his scientific perspective on "Verdi and musicological research". The following quote is the 10 of November, teacher's turn Roberto Giovanardi, Director of the Emilia Romagna Theater Association in Italy, to talk about “Verdi and the Ballet”, a facet of Verdi's production to which great orchestras and conductors have dedicated monographic recordings.

At the end of the same month, the day 27, a colloquium featuring Andoni Luis Aduriz -restaurant Mugarritz-, joan rock -restaurant El Celler de Can Roca – and Juan Ángel Vela del Campo brings us closer to the gastronomic hobby of the master of Busseto. Musicologist and film essayist Jose Luis Tellez arrives in Bilbao on 14 April to talk about "Verdi and cinema". the conference of Fernando Bayon, researcher at the University of Deusto, on "Verdi and theatrical architecture" puts the 28 May a finishing touch to the ninth edition of Verdi Week.

“Verdi Week”, conference cycle

The collaboration agreement between ABAO-OLBE and the University of Deusto appears within the framework of the "Tutto Verdi" project with which the Association takes on the challenge of representing all of the master's operas. But also, faithful to its philosophy and commitment to society, ABAO-OLBE programs a parallel cultural project around the figure of the artist to discover from different perspectives the most outstanding and unpublished aspects of the Italian musician and meet the most authentic Verdi. And this is where the involvement of other cultural institutions arises, which translates into the signing of collaboration agreements, such as the University of Deusto through the Deusto Forum., y and the Italian Cultural Institute Madrid.
