The CD Charles Avison-Concerti Grossi by Ignacio Prego receives the Diapason d’Or

The disc Charles Avison-Concerti Grossi del clavecinista Ignacio Prego y directing formation, New Tiento, editado por el sello Glossa, ha recibido el prestigioso Diapason d’Or, premio otorgado por la revista francesa especializada en música Diapason. “Equilibrio radiante, misterio, energía y maestría alucinantes, subtlety… Esta antología se impone como la mejor invitación para descubrir a Avison”, señala la publicación gala al describirlo.

Cada mes, los especialistas de la revista Diapason revisan alrededor de 200 CDs y DVDs de música clásica, calificándolos de uno a cinco diapasones, excepto aquellos que consideran más notables, a los que otorgan un Diapason d’Or. Los extractos de las grabaciones señaladas por esos editores se graban posteriormente en un disco que se ofrece con la revista.

Este premio de la crítica especializada está considerado el más importante a nivel internacional, y se suma a otras máximas calificaciones en el mundo de la música clásica como las de la revista belga Crescendo, la consideración de grabación de la semana de la radio holandesa NPO Radio 4, y aquí en España las de El Cultural, Music lover, y la de Disco Excepcional de la revista Scherzo.

El que es el último trabajo de Ignacio Prego y Tiento Nuovo incluye cuatro de los Concertos in seven parts done from the lessons of Domenico Scarlatti that the English composer Charles Avison (1709-1770) wrote adapting, transforming and making his own some of the Neapolitan keyboard sonatas, así como cuatro sonatas para clave, también de Scarlatti, interpretadas por el músico madrileño.

Desde su lanzamiento al mercado, la grabación ha sido emitida repetidamente por RNE, BBC Radio, France Musique, Concertzender Nederland, ABC (Australia), KLARA (Belgium), WFMT (U.S), o VM (Canada), entre otras., antes de conseguir el Diapason d’Or.

Tiento Nuovo was born in 2016 and it quickly becomes a regular line-up in the concert halls of our country. About Ignacio Prego

Described by the international press as one of the most important harpsichordists of his generation, Ignacio Prego has managed to establish an intense professional career on both sides of the Atlantic. He has given concerts in the most important cities of North America, Asia, and in the vast majority of countries in Europe and South America, including rooms such as Alice Tully Hall-Lincoln Center and the Frick Collection in New York, la National Gallery de Washington DC, el National Center for the Performing arts en Pekín, the Esplanade in Singapore or the National Auditorium in Madrid; and festivals like the one in Utrecht, Berkeley, Boston, Sevilla (FeMAS), Vancouver, Little ones, etc.

He collaborates regularly with musicians like Monica Huggett, Nothing McGegan, Harry Bicket, Hiro Kurosaki, or Maurice Steger, including solo performances with The English Concert in New York and the Portland Baroque Orchestra at the Oregon Bach Festival.

In 2012, receives First Prize at the Westfield International Harpsichord Competition, contest in which competitors from 12 countries.
