The musical world of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries
Following the success of the last edition, “Salamanca Barroca” faces this season 14/15 with a proposal similar to last year. In this way, the cycle of ten concerts, which combines recognized works with fallen repertoires in an unjust forgetfulness, keep the spirit of looking at the world of the music of the seventeenth and eighteenth global mode, focusing on three areas have to relate. Academy of Ancient Music
The Academy of Ancient Music, It is a global area of articulation and promotion of activities in the field of “historical musical performance”.
Created in order to facilitate the mechanisms of specialization in Renaissance and Baroque repertoire young Spanish musicians, It has been a benchmark for this type of work in Spain. Along with an annual program of specialized courses, Academy hosts various specialized musical groups: Chamber Choir, Consort of viols and Baroque Orchestra, among other.
This is precisely another line of action of Salamanca Barroca: encourage and facilitate the presence of interpreters participants in the concert series in the training plan, since almost a quarter century, It is maintained at the University of Salamanca in relation to early music. A plan that is articulated through a program of courses, lectures and seminars focusing primarily on aspects of historical performance practice.
