Festival Segovia offers the most exquisite gourmand music for summer
Of the 16 al 29 of July, in the historic corners of the city
The Patio de Armas of El Alcázar, San Martin Square, Saint John of the Knights, Cathedral, the conservatory, the House of coin, gardens and patios, in addition to several places in the province, they will dress in music to host, of the 16 al 29 of July, to the Segovia Festival: a chamber music festival endorsed by 37 years of existence in which the best performers on the international scene have left their mark.
The chamber music section will be represented by the Brodsky Quartet, one of the most important groups on the international scene in chamber music and with a quality endorsed by an experience that goes back to 1972, which will hold its 40 anniversary also at the Segovia Festival, with a concert around the wheel of fortune. The guitarist and composer David del Puerto, National Music Award 2005, will be accompanied by the soprano Laia Falcón and the accordion of Ángel Luis Castaño, to go through the main episodes of the Carmen libretto, by Bizet and enjoy it and play with sounds close to jazz, the rock, symphonic music and electronic music. The volcanic piano of the young man from Gran Canaria Iván Martín, considered one of the most solid interpreters of the moment, will execute, Likewise, an eclectic program that includes sonatas from Antonio Soler to Debussy; y the Academy of Pleasure, the reference group of the new generation of early Spanish music, focused from its origin on the study and interpretation of Renaissance and Baroque music, will perform Bach with Memoirs of Leipzig.
Musical “goodies” and delicacies for pleasurable ears in a festival in which Machado’s poetry will not be lacking, with José Sacristán accompanied on piano by Judith Jáuregui, the soul of Patricia Kraus and her band, the dance of the Ballet Soloists of Cristina Hoyos, cinema and its soundtracks by the Chamber Orchestra of Spain, percussion from Sinaloa or the mixture between baroque and flamenco of Arcángel and Fahmi Alqhai.
For the most familiar public, the characteristic traditional Family Concert, with a "troupe of anarcho-clowns" that masterfully combines acrobatics, theater and music: Mimirichi, one of the most important children's theater companies in Ukraine that has created its own style. Plus, a Youth Festival where the JONDE will have a place, the winners of the Santa Cecilia Piano Prize and the winners of the Intercentros competitions, Pedro Bote, INJUVE and Infanta Cristina.
The IV Cycle of Historical Organs, the V Course of Music and Pedagogy "City of Segovia", the course for music lovers and music fans "Between musics", of CEDAM (an encounter with music and art that aims to discover the keys to deep understanding of the role of music in its relationship with other artistic manifestations, and that includes talks, artistic preparation for concerts and colloquiums, and attendance at the Festival); and the exhibition of costumes at the House of Dance, will complete one of the Spanish festivals with the greatest tradition and solidity.
