Mexican tenor Javier Camarena will be one of the main protagonists of the acts of commemoration of the VIII Centenary of Burgos Cathedral with the recital that he will offer on Tuesday 15 June at 20.15 hours at the main altar of La Seo. In his performance inside the Gothic temple he will be accompanied by the Biscayan pianist Rubén Fernández Aguirre.
Tickets will cost 10 euros and can be purchased at the box office of the Teatro Principal and Cultural Cordón. The program includes a variety of pieces that include authors such as Händel, Rossini, Bach, Verdi, Bizet, Cilea, Mascagni, Morales, Hahn, Albéniz, Garcia Abril and Galindo.
The VIII Centenary of the Cathedral Foundation. Burgos 2021 organizes this concert just over a month before the temple meets 800 years since King Ferdinand III and Bishop Mauricio laid their first stone in 1221.

Javier Camarena is part of the series 'Met Stars Live in Concert' and performs with Angel Blue, Pretty Yende and Matthew Polenzani at the New Year's Eve Gala, en vivo desde el Parktheater im Kurhaus Göggingen, in Augsburg, Germany. Together with the pianist Ángel Rodríguez, presents its program of recitals in Spain at the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, Zaragoza Auditorium and Bilbao Philharmonic and joins the stage with Plácido Domingo for a gala concert at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. Other concert commitments take Camarena to the Monte Carlo Opera, the Teatro Real in Madrid, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Oviedo Auditorium, Auditorium of Murcia and the Cesky Krumlov Festival.
It was at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City that Camarena made his professional debut as Tonio in a staging of Daughter of the Regiment in 2004 and has since returned to this same auditorium for three more productions. In 2007 joined the ensemble of the Zurich Opera. four years later, made her Metropolitan Opera debut as Rossini's Almaviva, one of the characteristic roles for which he is most recognized; others include Don Ramiro and Comte Ory by the same composer; Belmonte and Fernando de Mozart; Nemorino and Arturo de Donizetti; Verdi's Fenton and Bellini's Elvino.
