Open Day at the Liceu

The next sunday 8 of May, the Liceu organizes an open day, from 10 h in the morning, until 18 h, uninterruptedly, coinciding with the European Opera Day.
You can visit the most emblematic Theater: Room, Hall of Mirrors (Hall of Mirrors), the Foyer and the Círculo del Liceo, a clear example of Catalan Modernism with an exceptional collection of paintings by Ramon Casas
throughout the day, in the Hall of Mirrors, musical performances will be offered. In the morning, Higher level singing students from the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu will perform.
In the afternoon, presented by Mònica Pagès, a recital will be offered with the best vocal pieces of the main German composers, performed by four renowned singers of the current generation. Soprano Marta Matheu, the mezzo-soprano Claudia Schneider, the tenor Roger Padullés and the baritone Enric Martínez-Castignani, accompanied by the pianist Francisco Poyato, will offer an anthological tour of the German Lied and Opera, from Mozart to Kurt Weill. further, will be the world premiere of two songs about German poetic texts, composed by Enric Palomar and Albert Guinovart, as a special contribution to the event. Three operas recorded at the Liceu will also be screened in the Foyer: The Little Magic Flute and Cinderella, of the Petit Liceu, y Manon de J. Massenet.
