Joyce DiDonato makes her debut in Les Arts accompanied by the orchestra Il pomo d’oro

The charismatic artist inaugurates the cycle 'The Arts is Great Voices', a new proposal of the Les Arts program that will bring together the most emblematic figures of the lyric of our time in a journey through the musics and composers that marked their careers. "Possibly, the most dynamic artist of her generation ", according to 'The New Yorker', "Authentic gold from 24 carats ”, according to ‘The Times’, Joyce DiDonato is one of the most fascinating and overwhelming personalities on the operatic scene.

Recipient of multiple Grammys for her discography, recipient of the British Olivier Award for her ‘outstanding achievements in opera’ or the American Richard Tucker Award, the Kansas mezzo-soprano is sought after by leading theaters and auditoriums around the world for both her performances of Handel and Mozart and her forays into the bel canto repertoire.

For his first performance in Les Arts, The American diva will be accompanied by Il pomo d’oro, one of the most prestigious ‘ensembles’ for its role in the recovery of masterpieces from the Baroque and Classicism to the Belcanthist period.

Under the baton of Francesco Corti, Joyce DiDonato to offer some of her favorite arias and songs, with Monteverdi pages, Gluck, Händel, Hasse y Rameau, among others. Founded in 2012, Il pomo d'oro is one of DiDonato's usual travel companions on various projects, among them the album of baroque arias entitled 'In War and Peace' which was awarded the Echo Klassik in 2017.

Les Arts recalls that the prices for the Joyce DiDonato concert in the Main Hall, this Sunday at 18.00 hours, range between 10 Y 60 euros.
