This is an extraordinary concert organized by the Alliance Française and the Scherzo Foundation for 150 birthday of Erik Satie.

The Theaters Canal from the Community of Madrid present the pianist Anne Queffélec in an extraordinary concert on the occasion of the 150 years of the birth of Erik Satie the next day 30 October in the Red Room.

Anne Queffélec's career and talent make her one of the most outstanding international pianists of our time. After his studies at the Paris Conservatoire, Anne Queffélec moves to Vienna, where you have the opportunity to learn alongside Paul Badura-Skoda, Jörg Demus y, especially, Alfred Brendel. She has been the winner of the Munich international competitions in 1968 and Leeds in 1969.

Much in demand in Europe, in Japan, Hong-Kong, Canada and USA, has been invited by orchestras such as the London Symphony, London Philharmonic, BBC Symphony, Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Zurich Tonhalle, Polish Chamber Orchestra, Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, NHK de Tokio, French National Orchestra and Radio France Philharmonic ..., under the direction of teachers like Boulez, Gardiner, Jordan, Zinman, Eschenbach, Conlon, Langrée, Belohlavek, Skrowaczewski, Casadesus, Lombard, Guschlbauer, Zecchi, Foster, Holliger O Janowski.

Nominated in 1990 as "Best performer of the year" at the Victoires de la Musique, Anne Queffélec has performed several times at the London Proms and Bath festivals, Swansea, King’s Lynn, Cheltenham, Handel Festival in Göttingen. He has participated in the recording of the soundtrack of Amadeus, under the direction of Neville Marriner.

Anne Queffélec cultivates an eclectic repertoire both on stage and in her rich discography. He has dedicated more than forty recordings to Scarlatti, Schubert, Liszt, Chopin, Bach, Debussy, Fauré, Mendelssohn, Satie, the integral work of Ravel and Dutilleux, Mozart, Beethoven, Haendel and Haydn engraved by Erato, Virgin Classics y Mirare.

His latest albums include Satie & Compagnie engraved by Mirare, the double album Ravel, Debussy, Fauré published by Erato in 2014 y Shadow and Light, dedicated to Domenico Scarlatti and recorded by Mirare in 2015, the three Diapason d’Or. In March 2016 BBC Magazine dedicated their Album of the Month to their live recordings.
