Maite Beaumont will be Celestina at the Teatro de la Zarzuela

Maite Beaumont

It will replace Ketevan Kemoklidze who for personal reasons prevent him from participating in the concerts of the 9 Y 11 of September in the Teatro de la Zarzuela.

The Navarran mezzo-soprano Maite Beaumont will sing the role of Celestina in the world premiere of the opera "The Celestine" from Felipe Pedrell. It will replace Ketevan Kemoklidze who for personal reasons prevent him from participating in the concerts of the 9 Y 11 September at the Teatro de la Zarzuela.

With his unique timbre and great expressiveness, Maite Beaumont is one of the most important singers in her field and a successful concert performer., with a repertoire that encompasses from baroque to contemporary works. At the Teatro de la Zarzuela Beaumont has participated in the Homage to Montserrat Caballé and in the recovery of 'Farinelli' from Tomás Breton in concert.

"The Celestine", Pedrell's mature work, will ring now for the first time as, even though in the year 1902 its premiere was planned at the Liceo de Barcelona (and later in other scenarios, including the Teatro de la Zarzuela), never saw the light.
