Barenboim new projects with Deutsche Grammophon / Decca

Deutsche Grammophon and Decca announce the signing of an agreement with the conductor and pianist Daniel Barenboim, that will last beyond 70 artist's birthday in 2012.
Among the many innovations that will appear, are the first ever recordings of piano concertos for Chopin and Liszt by Barenboim and a new cycle of symphonies dedicated to Beethoven with his inspiring West-Eastern Divan Orchestra.
The first releases on Deutsche Grammophon, at the beginning of 2011, will be dedicated to Chopin: A recital recorded in Warsaw, as well as the two concerts with Barenboim accompanied by the Berlin Staatskapelle under Andris Nelsons. In that same year, a new recording with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra is also planned to coincide with their annual tour that includes Tchaikovsky's Symphony Pathetic and the Schoenberg Variations for Orchestra.
For him 2011, Liszt's bicentennial year, Deutsche Grammophon to release Barenboim's first recording of the two concerts, with Pierre Boulez and the Berlin Staatskapelle, along with solo works, some of them debut recordings with maestro Barenboim.
Regarding this agreement, Baremboim ha declared: “What makes me particularly happy is that this collaboration allows me to prioritize my work with the Staatskapelle and the West-Eastern Divan in equal measure.. The Staatskapelle has played an extremely important role in the formation of the Divan and in this new alliance with Deutsche Grammophon and Decca., our music community is very well represented.
