Agripina

Agripina

After his acclaimed approaches to operas by Haendel as well known as Giulio Cesare y Rinaldo, René Jacobs now he faces the first great operatic success in the life of the "expensive Sassone" (Venice, 1710), the peak of his italian period. This version reconstructs the work in its original conception, with its explosive combination of topicality and dramatic coherence. As a result, a story of love intrigues set in a Roman historical context, a "precuela" of the coronation of Poppea monteverdiana, what, in Jacob's hands, resurfaces more fascinating than ever.
