With this new album, the young French countertenor Philippe Jaroussky revives a number of magnificent opera arias the composer and singing teacher Nicola Antonio Neapolitan Purple, whose most famous student was the castrato Farinelli. As usual, Jaroussky has done an outstanding job of musical research for this album, in presenting several world premieres.
