
The process of creating a quintet, by including a cello to classical quartet, always a challenge for the composer, either Boccherini, Onslow o Schubert. In this case, Schubert raised in his opus 163 Posthumous a change with respect to the rule, by a more serious color and a masterly control, looking for a clear orchestral and metaphysical dimension so overwhelming that the work has become one of the tops of chamber music.
