The tenor Celso Albelo will present the 5 September at the Teatro Leal de La Laguna (Tenerife) APDP… in search of PEACE, an album with popular Canarian themes, of South American authors and of his own authorship that was recorded in its entirety during confinement. The Spanish singer has made this adventure with several friends and fellow travelers, as are the tenors Javier Camarena and Pancho Corujo, the soprano Blanca Valido and the singer and producer Sergio Núñez. Except for the Mexican interpreter, all the others will accompany the tenor from Tenerife in the concert of the day 5.
APDP… in search of PEACE It is made up of popular songs that are part of the soundtrack of Albelo's life, and includes Canarian themes and Cuban authors, Argentines and Mexicans, without forgetting a bolero by the Puerto Rican Pedro Flores performed as a duet with Camarena. Edited by Atlántida Music, the idea is to put it on sale in vinyl format, with five tracks per face. “In these times of breakneck speeds, now truncated by the pandemic, the idea of publishing it on vinyl invites us to enjoy the ritual of listening to music with the calm that this act deserves”, affirms the Canarian tenor.
In addition to a sample of the singer's operatic art, the famous aria "A furtive tear”From Donizetti's opera L'elisir d'amore, closely linked to the international career of the singer, there is also space on the disk
for a song written by Albelo, Payment Lineage –Composed in collaboration with Sergio Núñez and tenor Juan Manuel Padrón–, which is dedicated to the wineries of the same name located in El Sauzal (Tenerife), in which the tenor is artistic director of the annual music-culinary event La Voz de Tinto.
According to the singer, the idea and production of the album took place during the pandemic and was done exclusively by phone, including recording and editing work. Celso Albelo thanks his collaborators and also Bodegas Linaje del Pago and BMW Canaauto, companies that have sponsored APDP… in search of PEACE.
The new album will also be presented at concerts in various cities., on a tour of the Canary Islands and on other national and international stages.
Among other commitments, season 2020/2021 Celso Albelo will return to the Teatro de La Zarzuela in Madrid with a recital, will be Alfredo from La Traviata in Las Palmas, will debut at the Donizetti Festival in Bergamo with Belisario together with the Spanish Placido Domingo and Davinia Rodríguez directed by the musical director of the contest, Riccardo Frizza, will return to the Oviedo Opera now as Nadir de The Pearl Fishers by Bizet –which he recorded at the Teatro Verdi in Salerno for Brillian Classics–, will debut the role of Hoffmann of The Tales of Hoffmann at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège and will make his debut at the Arena of Verona playing Alfredo de La Traviata.
