The National Orchestra and Choir of Spain along with a large cast of Spanish voices, give life under the direction of Josep Pons to this first great work of the composer Manuel de Falla, in a current and powerful version called to become a reference recording.
This release released under the seal German Grammophon coincides with the concert version replacement of said work on days 3, 4 Y 5 October in the Season programming 14/15 of the National Orchestra and Choir of Spain, at National Music Auditorium in Madrid.
This album is part of the record project that the National Orchestra and Choir of Spain, under the direction of Josep Pons, has developed together with Universal Music Spain S.L., through its Deutsche Grammophon and Decca stamps. A project that at its completion will have involved the edition of nine audio records plus one video: Symphony no.. 8, in E flat major, “Of the thousand”, of Gustav Mahler; last of the symphonies performed by the National Orchestra and Choir of Spain within the cycle “Mahler anniversaries” dedicated to the bohemian composer.
